Pearls of Great Wisdom

"I've often compared having a horse with keeping a deer. Would you expect much cooperation if you saddled up a large buck? As another prey animal, a deer is very close to having the nature of a horse, yet humans expect and accept timidity and wildness in deer while expecting 'courage' and cooperation in a horse. Why? Because horses are big, strong wizards at adjusting, and they honestly try to do as we ask."
Author Rebekah Ferran Witter in 'Living with Horse Power: Personally Empowering Life Lessons Learned from the Horse'

"A lot of people get along pretty well with their horses until they go to training those horses"
